Grovewood is a single-family, deed restricted residential
neighborhood centrally located in Clearwater, Florida. The
neighborhood is close to shopping, schools, dining, entertainment
and Gulf Coast beaches. Tile roofs are a signature of this
Clearwater Florida neighborhood, and one of the strictest parts of
the deed restrictions. This area is great for outdoor
activities as it stays cool and shaded and the sidewalks
encourage walkers and bikers.
July 2024
Hello Friends and Neighbors!
On behalf of the Grovewood
HOA, I hope your summer is off to a great start and you had a great
4th of July!
A quick update on some matters of interest here
in our community:
Hurricane Season: As with
every summer, there is a good chance that we will be getting a
hurricane or two. Please take all safety measures that you can and
remember to communicate with your neighbors to make sure that you
have a support network in place. Also, please secure all items that
are around your home that possibly could be blown around and cause
damage to your home or a neighbor’s home.
Door
knocking and “Man Hunt”: One of the best things about our
neighborhood is that we can all see our kids playing together
outdoors – not just sitting inside playing on their cell phones.
However, a number of our residents have complained that their doors
have been knocked on, and when they go to answer there is nobody
there. Parents: please explain to you children that
“ding-dong-dash” is not to be tolerated and that this could develop
into a dangerous situation where the police could be notified.
Additionally, the game “Manhunt” (similar to hide-and-seek) is fine,
but not on other people’s property. Several residents have sent
security videos showing neighborhood kids hiding and playing on
various parts of their properties without permission. This is
dangerous to the children and against the wishes of the homeowners.
Please understand that unless parents prohibit this behavior,
residents will be forced to notify the police.
Dues:
Reminder to pay your HOA dues. The Dues are still $60.00 a
year. Everyone received the Dues Request Letter in early January.
This is a reminder to please submit your payment if you have not
already.
Yard Signs: With the upcoming
election season, please remember that Political Yard signs are not
permitted under our deed restrictions. We all have our political
views, and this is a free country. But please remember that this is
a deed restriction that all residents have signed onto, and there
are folks that have been living in Grovewood since 1971 that
participate in politics, vote, and speak their minds, but have still
abided by the Grovewood rules. I had one up for a short time during
one election year but was reminded of the restriction by a friend
and took it down, so I understand.
Sidewalk Parking:
There have been a few instances of residents and visitors parking on
the sidewalks which block pedestrians. Please be sure not to park on
the sidewalks.
A thought for Summer:
We are truly blessed to live here. So, remember to take a stroll
around Grovewood and enjoy the summertime.
"Summertime is
always the best of what might be." - Charles Bowden
Sincerely, Jim Vricos – President – Grovewood HOA
