Grovewood is a single-family, deed restricted residential
neighborhood centrally located in Clearwater, Florida. The
neighborhood is close to shopping, schools, dining, entertainment
and Gulf Coast beaches. Tile roofs are a signature of this
Clearwater Florida neighborhood, and one of the strictest parts of
the deed restrictions. This area is great for outdoor
activities as it stays cool and shaded and the sidewalks
encourage walkers and bikers.

January 2025
Happy New Year!
We hope you had a good holiday season and
are off to a good start in 2025.
First of all we want to
thank Jim Vricos, Kelsey King, and Elaine Smith for serving on your
Board of Directors for the past 3 years. Their contribution towards
keeping Grovewood a good place to live and own property is greatly
appreciated. We also want to thank Katie Fenech, Marci Molhem, and
Tim Bettelli for being willing to take their places on the Board.
Tim was elected at the Annual Meeting in November. Katie and Marci
have been appointed by the Board and will be formally elected at the
next Annual Meeting.
LUNINARIES - Boy, how
good did the neighborhood look on Christmas Eve with all the
luminaries out on the curbs? We had 95% of the kits out. Next year,
if you are unable or will be out of town, please ask a neighbor to
set yours out so we will have 100%. Not only does it make the
neighborhood look good it helps the Boy Scouts with their annual
fund raising event.
SPRING GARAGE SALES -The
next event is the spring garage sales on February 28, March 1, 2.
The association will place advertising on social media and will post
a banner at the entrance during the week of the sales. This is a
great way to do your housecleaning and get some extra spending
money. We get a lot of “shoppers” You can also shop your neighbor’s
sales. Suggestion-mark your items at or just below thrift store
prices. Also, consider half price on the last 2 hours of your last
day. We have always priced our clothing items at one dollar. It is
better to get something rather than nothing, if you price too high.
NEIGHBORHOOD DAY-The Grovewood Spring picnic
and City of Clearwater Neighborhood Day will be held this year on
Saturday March 22. Mark your calendar. Bring the kids and a side
dish or dessert to share. The association will provide the meat and
drinks. See the flyer included with this newsletter for more
details.
CRIME WATCH - We still have “car
door checkers” during the night in the neighborhood. Always keep
your car doors locked and your garage door down when you are not out
working in the yard. The police non-emergency number is
727-562-4242.
BEAUITIFICATION - We are so
lucky to live and own property in Grovewood. We still have most of
our trees even though we lost a few of them during the hurricanes.
This is not a good time for our yards but it is a good time to
remove the leaves off your grass and out of the gutters. If you
still have leaves in the gutters, even the city street sweeper will
not get them. You will need to bag them or pick them up and put them
in small trash cans. The city has asked you not use the black
barrels for leaves and yard trash. Use your blower to remove the
leaves. It is easier than raking.
PARKING -
Please do not park across the sidewalks or in front of fire
hydrants. This is a safety issue. We have a lot of folks that use
the sidewalks for exercise. We would also like for you to keep your
sidewalks edged so they will not trip on grass growing over the
sidewalks. If you need help with edging your sidewalks, let us know
and we will see if a neighbor can help you.
DEED
RESTRICTIONS - The Board is considering using an Attorney
to help us enforce the Deed Restrictions. If you have not reviewed
the Deed Restrictions or need copies, let us know and we will make
sure you get copies. They can also be found on our website.
Your Board of Directors’ main job is to enforce the Deed
Restrictions that came with your property. We also ask those renting
property in Grovewood to follow the deed restrictions so your owner
will not have issues that could affect your lease.
Please let
us know if you have any questions by sending an email to
grovewood@gmail.com. That email only goes to the Board Members, not
the entire neighborhood.
